第 3 级 · 95–160The Power of Defaults
When people face a choice, they often stick with whatever option is already selected for them. Economists call this the default effect. A striking example comes from organ donation. In countries where citizens must actively ____(1) to become donors, participation rates are often low. In countries where donation is the default and people must actively opt out, rates are dramatically higher. (缺一句话) Businesses also use defaults strategically, for instance by automatically enrolling customers in subscriptions. Critics argue that such practices can be ____(2) if consumers do not realize what they have agreed to. Used responsibly, however, defaults can help people make choices that serve their own long-term ____(3), such as saving for retirement.
